Dec. 8 – Today, Guelph General Hospital (GGH) begins trialing WiFi service throughout its building for patients and their visitors.
“Staying connected to family, friends and the outside world supports us in striving to provide the highest quality of care and experience for patients and their families,” says Marianne Walker, President and CEO. “I’m glad we’re able to do this in time for the holiday season.”
The wireless service will allow patients and visitors to stay in touch with family and friends through website access, social media, and email.
“Having access to wireless technology not only enables patients to stay in touch with the people who are important in their lives but also helps to combat the sense of isolation some may feel while in hospital,” Walker says. “All contribute to the best possible patient experience.”
