Emergency Department named in recognition

In recognition of an historic $1 million gift made by Linamar Corporation and the Hasenfratz Family to The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital’s MRI & More campaign, signage proclaiming the “Linamar Emergency Department” will be celebrated.

The $1 million gift helped fund the three campaign priorities: bringing an MRI scanner to Guelph, enhancing Emergency Department care, and providing equipment for regional vascular surgery services.

“Linamar Emergency Department” signage is now visible both outside and inside the Emergency Department.

Hospital President and CEO Richard Ernst commented, “This clearly demonstrates the importance of donor contributions, and how they make a difference. We are most grateful to Linamar and the Hasenfratz Family for their incredible support, and are happy to recognize this gift in keeping with our Donor Recognition Policy.”

Linamar CEO Linda Hasenfratz said, “The services Guelph General Hospital provides to our employees and our community are invaluable and of course that is never more true than in the always bustling Emergency Department, a crucial component of the Hospital. Together, Linamar and my family wanted to support the great work the Hospital does and build on it through our joint gift; we are honored to see our name on the wall of the Guelph General Hospital Emergency Department.”

Donor-named areas at the Hospital now include: Linamar Emergency Department, Bob Ireland Family Critical Care Unit; Hasenfratz Ambulatory Care Unit; Rotary Club of Guelph Family Birthing Unit; Reid Auditorium; W. C. Wood Company (Emergency Department) Waiting Room; Newt and Marguerite Clayton Community Dialysis Centre; Rotary Club of Guelph Medical Education Centre.
